Community- Led Food Production is a pilot project to reduce food waste, create value-added products, honor community autonomy, and give ownership and control to local-level leaders. By teaching unique cooking skills based on experiences and culture, we will create a more vibrant community, help decrease food waste within the communities by knowing more about what to do with food, and open the cooking classes to the public.

Participants will have job training and skill development in the following areas: food preservation, food safety, collaborations, cooperative business development, outreach and marketing, labeling, branding, and financial management.

During non-production times we will partner with local workforce groups to help develop other skills that can be transferable to other work sectors.
