Fresh Grounds trains approximately 15 at-risk young adults each year, preparing them for self-sufficiency and independence by helping them find employment in coffee shops and other customer service positions. Fresh Grounds takes extra care in demonstrating sensitivity to the particular circumstances these at-risk youth face—providing food when trainees are hungry, working around schedules to accommodate a need to be at a shelter at a certain time, or working proactively with trainees whose mental health, substance abuse, or other challenges requires extra support.
